Tandem skydiving is available from 12 years old, subject to a minimum weight of 40 kg.
For minors, a parental authorization as well as a medical certificate are mandatory.
However, it is essential that the decision comes from the child themselves.
Under the age of 18, the skydive must be a personal and motivated choice in order to guarantee a positive, safe and enjoyable experience. Our team reserves the right to refuse a jump if we feel that the minor is not sufficiently willing or comfortable, always with safety and well-being as the priority.
-
There is no maximum age limit for tandem skydiving, as long as the person is in good physical condition and good health.
For safety reasons, a medical certificate is required for participants over 60 years old, in order to ensure that the jump can take place under the best possible conditions.
Each situation is carefully evaluated by our team with a constant focus on safety, comfort and enjoyment.
-
You should allow approximately 2 to 3 hours on site.
However, we recommend that you keep the whole morning available, as the activity may be delayed depending on weather conditions. -
To perform a tandem skydive, the passenger’s weight must not exceed 90 kg (200 lbs) for safety reasons related to the equipment and landing phase.
Please refer to our > height/weight chart < for more details and additional information.
-
The weight limit is primarily a matter of safety. A passenger’s weight directly affects parachute performance, freefall stability and landing conditions.
Beyond a certain weight, the physical stress placed on both the equipment and the tandem instructor becomes too great to guarantee a jump under optimal safety and comfort conditions.
This limit may also vary depending on daily weather conditions, especially wind and temperature. This is why every participant is weighed before the jump.
Even if it can sometimes feel frustrating, these rules exist solely to ensure everyone’s safety.
-
Yes. Even though tandem skydiving is accessible to most people, certain medical conditions may represent a contraindication.
Skydiving is generally not recommended in cases of:
- serious problems affecting the lower limbs or spine,
- heart conditions,
- severe ENT disorders,
- loss of consciousness,
- uncontrolled epilepsy,
- or any medical condition incompatible with high-adrenaline activities.
If in doubt, we strongly recommend consulting your doctor before making a reservation.
Pregnancy is considered an absolute contraindication at all stages, without exception.
In cases of controlled epilepsy, recent surgery, high blood pressure or specific medical treatment, a medical opinion may be required before the jump.
This information is provided for guidance only and does not replace personalized medical advice. Tahiti Parachutisme reserves the right to refuse boarding to any participant whose physical condition appears incompatible with the activity for safety reasons.
-
Yes, in certain cases it is possible to perform a tandem skydive with a disability. Each situation is evaluated individually in order to guarantee the safety of both the participant and the tandem instructor.
We can notably accommodate visually impaired, hearing impaired or amputee participants, provided that the person can be properly secured in the tandem harness, meaning they must have sufficiently long limbs to ensure the safety of the equipment.
However, we do not have the specific equipment required for paraplegic participants or people with severely reduced mobility requiring specialized support systems.
In all cases, please contact us before making a reservation so that our team can evaluate your situation and confirm whether the skydive can be safely performed.
-
In the event of cancellation or rescheduling, please inform us at least 48 hours before the scheduled jump date, in order to allow our team to reorganize operations.
In this case, the jump may be rescheduled to a later date, subject to availability.Any request made less than 48 hours before the jump will not be eligible for a refund, except in the case of a medical certificate or flight cancellation.
The Tahiti Parachutisme team reserves the right to cancel or postpone a jump up until the last moment if weather or safety conditions do not allow the activity to be carried out under optimal conditions.
In this case, the jump will be rescheduled or, if this is not possible, a refund may be offered (excluding resident rates, gift vouchers and Tourism Fair special offers, which are non-refundable but may be transferable depending on their validity).
-
Skydiving is an activity entirely dependent on weather conditions. It is therefore possible for a jump to be delayed while waiting for weather conditions to improve.
In French Polynesia, the weather changes very quickly and a day that initially seems bad can sometimes offer a perfect weather window a few hours later. This is why we ask our participants to allow enough time on site and remain flexible on the day of the activity.
Safety always remains our absolute priority. If conditions ultimately do not allow the jump to take place, we will offer either a rescheduled jump or another suitable solution depending on your travel schedule and availability.
-
All gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
Gift vouchers purchased during special events or promotional offers (Tourism Fair, Christmas offers, limited promotions, etc.) are also valid for 6 months. -
Gift vouchers, Tourism Fair special offers and resident rates are non-refundable under any circumstances.
In the event of cancellation on our side, a free rescheduling will be offered only within the following days, subject to availability.
If you are unable to reschedule your jump, the gift voucher may be transferred free of charge, within the limits of its validity period.
The validity of the voucher / resident rate is fixed at 6 months (unless the “Validity Extension” option was added during the initial purchase).
Full-price skydives are not affected by this limitation and remain fully refundable.
-
Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months.
With the “validity extension” option, your voucher remains valid for 12 months instead of 6 months, offering greater flexibility.
This option must be selected during the online purchase process, cannot be added later, and is available exclusively for gift vouchers.
-
On the day of your jump, you will be welcomed by our team for registration procedures and a safety briefing.
After getting equipped, you will board the aircraft with your tandem instructor for a scenic climb offering spectacular views over the landscapes of French Polynesia.
Once at altitude, you will perform the tandem jump securely attached to your instructor. The experience includes a freefall phase, followed by parachute opening and a calmer canopy flight allowing you to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery before landing.
-
Yes. Emotions and adrenaline place a lot of stress on the body, so it is recommended to eat lightly before your jump in order to avoid any feeling of weakness or discomfort. We recommend a light and easy-to-digest meal.
-
For obvious safety reasons, any consumption of alcohol or drugs before the activity is strictly prohibited. If our team considers that a participant is not fit to take part in the activity, access may be refused without refund and the jump will be considered forfeited.
-
Yes, absolutely! You can come and jump with a friend, your partner or a loved one in order to share this incredible adventure together. We can accommodate 2 tandem passengers per flight.
Once at jump altitude, you will exit the aircraft one after the other. During freefall, it will be almost impossible to see each other… but honestly, you’ll be far too busy enjoying the breathtaking views over the lagoons and the unbelievable sensations of freefall!
Once the parachutes are open, you will often be able to spot each other in the sky, sometimes close enough to wave and share this magical moment together.
And finally, you’ll reunite on the ground with only one thought in mind: doing it all over again!
-
In the event that you refuse to jump once on board the aircraft, no refund can be granted.
-
Yes, friends and family are welcome on our drop zone. They will be able to share this unique moment with you, watch the aircraft take off and observe the parachutists landing from the authorized viewing areas. It is often a spectacular and emotional experience for both participants and their loved ones.
However, we recommend bringing sun protection and water, especially on hot days.
-
No, unfortunately. For safety reasons, aviation regulations and limited space on board, only tandem passengers and the skydiving team are allowed inside the aircraft.
If your companion wishes to experience the flight with you and board the aircraft, they must also be registered as a tandem passenger and perform a skydive.
However, your friends and family are more than welcome to stay on the ground to watch the takeoff and your landing, and share this unforgettable moment with you.
-
We do not offer a shuttle service.
You will therefore need to arrive by your own means at the meeting location. -
Yes, it is possible to perform several jumps in the same day depending on availability and weather conditions. Feel free to discuss it with our team when making your reservation.
-
We recommend arriving at the scheduled time of your skydive, or a few minutes earlier, in order to complete the registration process, receive the safety briefing and get equipped under the best possible conditions.
-
Yes, it is sometimes possible to book a last-minute skydive depending on remaining availability and weather conditions.
However, our slots are limited and some days can be fully booked several weeks in advance, especially during high season or on islands such as Moorea and Bora Bora.
We therefore recommend booking as early as possible in order to guarantee your spot and preferred time slot.
For any last-minute request, please contact us at [email protected] or call us at +689 87 33 97 23 📞
-
Yes, it is possible to modify a reservation depending on remaining availability and provided that you notify us sufficiently in advance, generally at least 48 hours before the scheduled jump date.
We always do our best to find a suitable solution in case of schedule changes, especially during a trip to French Polynesia where unexpected events can happen.
However, last-minute modifications may be limited depending on flight schedules, weather conditions and operational constraints. We therefore recommend contacting us as soon as possible in order to organize your rescheduling or date change under the best possible conditions.
-
Yes, absolutely! A skydive is an unforgettable gift idea for a birthday, honeymoon, marriage proposal or any other special occasion ✨
We offer customizable gift vouchers allowing you to offer a unique experience in the skies of French Polynesia.
And honestly… it’s hard to imagine anything more memorable than skydiving above turquoise lagoons to celebrate a special moment in your life 🌴💍
-
Each time slot offers a different experience, but morning flights are generally the most popular. Weather conditions are often calmer, visibility is better and the light over the lagoons and mountains of French Polynesia is absolutely stunning.
Later time slots can also offer beautiful colors and a different atmosphere, although weather conditions may sometimes be a little more unpredictable.
No matter what, every skydive remains a unique experience and we always choose the best possible windows to guarantee safety, comfort and spectacular views.
-
The Photo/Video option allows you to keep a complete memory of your skydiving experience.
The images are captured by your instructor during the jump using an onboard camera attached either to the tandem instructor or directly to the passenger harness.
The option may include:
- Photos on the ground before takeoff;
- Images during the aircraft climb;
- The aircraft exit;
- Freefall footage;
- The parachute flight;
- The landing;
- As well as aerial views of the surrounding landscapes.
All photos and videos are then delivered to you in digital format after your jump via a download link. You will generally receive around one hundred photos, the raw video files and a complete edited video of your experience.
As the cameras used are electronic devices, technical malfunctions may exceptionally occur. In the event of a total failure of the video system, only the amount paid for the Photo/Video option may be refunded. Under no circumstances can the tandem skydive itself be refunded due to issues related to photos or videos.
WARNING: The download link is sent by email within up to 7 days after your skydive. It is the customer’s responsibility to download all files within a minimum period of 30 days. After this delay, the link may be deactivated and the files permanently deleted without possibility of recovery. It is also the customer’s responsibility to make backup copies and properly store their digital files.
-
Your photos and videos are generally sent within a few hours to a few days after your jump, depending on workload and operational conditions at the time.
You will receive a download link by email giving you access to all your high-quality photo and video files. Please also check your spam or junk mail folder, as download links can sometimes end up there.
We strongly recommend downloading all your files as soon as possible and keeping backup copies on your phone, computer or personal cloud storage. Download links automatically expire after a certain period of time and files may no longer be recoverable afterwards.
And trust us… reliving your skydive through the videos is almost as intense as the jump itself! 😄🪂
-
For obvious safety reasons, it is not possible to bring your own camera or phone during the jump.
Any object that could interfere with the instructor during the different phases of the skydive is strictly prohibited. In addition, dropping an object at more than 200 km/h over populated areas (airport, public beaches, etc.) could lead to serious consequences.
To keep a memory of this unique experience, you may however choose the Photo/Video option, professionally filmed by your instructor using specialized equipment perfectly adapted for skydiving.
-
Yes… and that’s completely normal 😊
The vast majority of participants feel stress, excitement or nervousness before their very first skydive. Even people who appear very confident on the ground often admit that their heart was racing before boarding the aircraft!
The important thing to know is that this fear usually disappears very quickly once the experience begins. Between the adrenaline, the beauty of the scenery and the guidance of the tandem instructor, most participants go from fear to pure amazement in just a few moments.
And most importantly… almost everyone says the exact same thing after landing:
“Why didn’t I do this sooner?” 😄 -
Yes, absolutely. Vertigo is not considered a contraindication for tandem skydiving.
Contrary to what many people imagine, the sensation of vertigo usually experienced on a balcony, ladder or cliff almost completely disappears during a skydive. At several thousand meters above the ground, the brain loses its usual visual references related to height, and most participants do not experience vertigo during the jump.
Many people who suffer from vertigo complete their skydive without any difficulty and mainly describe a feeling of freedom and amazement.
In addition, your tandem instructor manages the entire skydive: you do not have to make any technical decisions during the experience. Simply keep your eyes open, smile… and let us give you one of the most unforgettable experiences in French Polynesia ✨
-
Yes! Most of our passengers jump despite being afraid of heights. The sensation is very different from the usual feeling of standing near an edge, and the entire experience is supervised by a professional tandem instructor.
It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience… especially in French Polynesia!! 🪂🌺🏝️✨
-
A comfortable or sporty outfit is perfectly suitable, along with closed-toe shoes such as sneakers.
As the temperature can vary by up to 20°C between the ground and jump altitude, feel free to bring slightly warmer clothing if you tend to get cold easily. -
If your visual correction is minor, we recommend not wearing prescription glasses for greater comfort during the jump.
Otherwise, it is absolutely possible to keep your glasses on throughout the entire skydive. Protective over-goggles adapted to your glasses will be provided.
For participants wearing contact lenses, protective goggles provided by our team must be worn during the entire activity, especially if you tend to have dry eyes, in order to ensure maximum comfort throughout the experience.
-
The duration of freefall mainly depends on the jump altitude. During a tandem skydive, freefall generally lasts around 40 seconds, followed by several minutes under canopy to fully enjoy the scenery.
Even though it may sound short, the perception of time varies greatly from one person to another: some people feel like the moment lasts forever, while others find the experience way too short… to the point of wanting to do it again and again! Freefall creates unique sensations that quickly become addictive.
-
During freefall, the speed can reach around 200 km/h (125 mph). Despite this impressive speed, the sensation feels very smooth and does not feel like “falling” as you would experience on a ride or roller coaster. The experience is often described as an intense feeling of freedom.
-
Tandem skydives are generally performed from an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,500 ft), depending on weather conditions and daily flight authorizations. This altitude allows you to fully enjoy the freefall experience as well as breathtaking views over the landscapes of French Polynesia.
The higher the altitude, the more spectacular the view becomes: turquoise lagoons, coral reefs, mountains and the vast Pacific Ocean combine to create a truly unique panorama.
-
Yes, it is absolutely possible to breathe normally throughout the entire skydive. Contrary to popular belief, the speed of freefall does not prevent you from breathing. The adrenaline may simply create an intense sensation at the moment you exit the aircraft.
Best advice: let your emotions out as soon as you leave the plane (SCREAM!!)! Many participants naturally scream under the effect of adrenaline, which actually helps them relax. Afterwards, simply breathe calmly and normally, especially through your nose, in order to fully enjoy the experience.
-
Yes. During a tandem skydive, you are securely attached to your instructor from the beginning to the end of the experience: during the aircraft climb, freefall, parachute flight and landing.
-
Skydiving in French Polynesia is a truly exceptional experience thanks to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world: turquoise lagoons, coral reefs, volcanic mountains and panoramic views over the Pacific Ocean. Very few places on Earth offer such a spectacular setting for a skydive.
We could talk about it for hours… but honestly, the best thing is to come and experience it for yourself!
-
The sensation experienced during freefall is difficult to compare to anything else. Most participants describe a mix of adrenaline, freedom and pure amazement. Contrary to what many people imagine, there is usually no “stomach drop” sensation like on certain amusement rides.
Skydiving is a magical, intense and vibrant experience, and according to us, one of the greatest feelings in the world!
-
The aircraft flight is generally very stable and comfortable. However, people who are sensitive to motion sickness may occasionally feel slight discomfort during the climb. We recommend avoiding heavy meals while still having something light to eat before the activity.
-
We currently do not offer solo skydiving training courses in French Polynesia, as operational conditions here are particularly complex.
It is currently only possible to perform tandem skydives with our company.4 -
Our operations are primarily focused on commercial tandem skydiving activities.
Solo jumpers are not permitted during our operations.
-
Scuba diving is strictly prohibited ⛔️ within 24 hours BEFORE a skydive. 🤿
Nitrogen bubbles still present in the body may increase the risk of decompression sickness, a risk that becomes greater when ascending to altitude. However, AFTER a skydive, there is no restriction on scuba diving activities. ✅
-
Each participant wears around their waist a pouch equipped with a life jacket.
In addition to the main parachute, every tandem setup is also equipped with a reserve parachute. All of our skydiving equipment is also fitted with an electronic safety activation device, which automatically deploys the reserve parachute in the event of a problem or failure of the main canopy.
These systems are an integral part of our safety procedures in order to guarantee a maximum level of safety throughout the entire skydive.
-
Incidents related to parachute deployment remain extremely rare. All of our equipment is inspected, maintained and packed according to very strict safety procedures.
The most important thing to know is that every tandem system includes two parachutes:
- a main parachute,
- as well as an emergency reserve parachute.
The chances of the main parachute failing to open properly are extremely low. However, the reserve parachute is specifically designed for emergency situations and is regularly packed by a certified professional in order to guarantee the safest and most reliable deployment possible.
Each system is also equipped with an automatic activation device capable of deploying the reserve parachute automatically if no action is taken by the instructor. This system, mandatory on all modern skydiving equipment, is designed to save lives and considerably reduces the risk of no parachute opening.
Tandem instructors are trained to handle this type of situation and undergo regular training. As with any aerial activity, zero risk does not exist, but modern skydiving is today an extremely regulated and safe activity.
-
Parachutes are packed exclusively by qualified professionals trained in tandem parachute packing procedures. Every piece of equipment follows very strict inspection and safety procedures before each jump.
The reserve parachute is regularly packed and inspected by a certified professional rigger in accordance with current regulations.
Equipment safety is an absolute priority and every system is inspected, maintained and monitored with the highest level of care and attention!
-
Our skydives are performed from an aircraft specially adapted for skydiving operations: a Cessna C206, recognized for its reliability, performance and safety.
The aircraft is specifically configured to allow safe jump operations while providing a comfortable experience for tandem passengers during the climb.
And honestly… the view from the aircraft before the jump is already part of the experience ✈️🌴
PS: Its nickname is Tiger Bird 🐯
-
Yes, we can also organize helicopter skydives upon request and depending on availability.
Helicopter jumps offer an even more exclusive and spectacular experience, with a completely different exit compared to a traditional aircraft skydive.
However, this type of experience remains exceptional and involves a higher cost than a standard tandem skydive from an airplane. Please contact us directly to discuss possibilities and receive a personalized quotation.
-
The aircraft climb generally lasts between 20 and 25 minutes depending on the jump altitude and daily conditions.
It is a moment greatly appreciated by participants, as it allows you to progressively enjoy the incredible views over the lagoons, mountains and ocean before the big jump.
And yes… the higher the aircraft climbs, the more the adrenaline rises too 😄✈️
-
Good news: it is possible to skydive all year round in French Polynesia 😊
However, some periods offer more stable weather conditions, especially during the dry season between May and October, with generally more sunshine, better visibility and calmer winds.
The wetter season, between November and April, can offer incredibly green landscapes and beautiful lighting conditions, although the weather may sometimes be more unpredictable.
In all cases, every day is different in French Polynesia and we always choose the best possible weather windows in order to guarantee safety, comfort and spectacular views. 🌴✨
-
Yes, during whale season in French Polynesia, it is sometimes possible to spot humpback whales from the aircraft or under canopy, especially around Moorea and Tahiti.
Of course, this remains a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed, but some of our participants have already had the incredible chance to observe whales and their calves from the sky… a truly magical experience ✨🌊
On the Tahiti drop zone, it is also common to spot sea turtles or dolphins before landing, adding even more magic to this already unforgettable experience 🐬🐢🌴
